Yes, I admit it, I’m addicted to writing my baby’s name with fabric rags… But I love it sooooo much!!! This time I decided to make something more elaborated, so I used NYTTJA frames and the postcards designed by Tom Frazier for IKEA. What do you thing about the final result! I love it!
I love my baby’s name and one of the main reasons why I chose it (yes I chose the name and my husband agreed with it ) was because it’s not very common.
Nevertheless, there are some famous Olivias out there… My favorite ones are without a doubt Olivia the Pig, Olive Oyl, Popeye’s girlfriend, and Olivia Dunham, the main character of the Fringe TV series.
Then, I searched for things with my baby’s name on it and I selected these four (there weren’t many more…): a tote bag, a t-shirt, a name’s origin and meaning illustration and a poster. I’m glad I didn’t find much more!
Lately I’ve been participating in several initiatives from some Spanish blogs. This post is part of one of them, so it doesn’t make much sense to publish it in English… I’m sorry…
I’ll just translate what I wrote to this initiative from “Hoy Compartimos…” which theme is “3 are not a crowd”. The complete post is in Spanish.
In less than two weeks three months have passed since we are three!
I’ve discovered a new hobby! Writing names with fabric rags is so much fun! Now I just need to practice my photographer skills… I bought an IKEA frame and some washi tape to decorate it and voilà ! A new picture to hang on my baby’s bedroom ♥ ♥ ♥
Olivia is very responsive to sounds, so I made these maracas to play with her. I filled some Orangina‘s bottles with rice, salt, water and Japanese Mugi-Cha beans to make different sounds. First I washed the bottles and submerged them in hot water so the label could come of. Then I filled them and protected the cap with some tape. You can watch the video and listen the sound of each bottle.
Today is Olivia’s first month anniversary! And what a better way to celebrate it than to announce it to the world?
She was born on the 5th of March at 16h24 with 3,380 kg. She is perfect, beautiful and healthy!
So many things have passed since then and she is growing so fast… But between assisting her needs, keeping our home in order or just taking a shower my self, I couldn’t find the time to keep the blog active.
It’s really strange because I’ve never been so productive as I am now: I learned how to not procrastinate and really use wisely my free time. And I’m sleeping just a few hours at night! I am truly impressed with myself, now I feel like a real mum.
So, I can’t promise I will keep blogging everyday, but I’ll surely try!
In a month I’ll be giving birth and we still don’t have Olivia’s bedroom prepared… We’ve not even assembled the crib! From the very beginning I knew how I wanted to decorate her room, but since we live in a rented apartment we find it hard to spend time and money in a place that is not ours and which we sooner or later might leave. But I’ve decided that I’ll hang at least some canvases! I wanted them to be very simple and clean, so I used only two colors (grey in two tones) and a theme that never fails, animals! I chose these four because they are our (mine and Joaquim‘s) favorites.
What do you think? Do you like it? I love it and I am super proud!
