WEEK SELECTIONS #10

(Podéis leer este artículo en Español aquí. ♦ Podem ler este artigo em Português aqui.)

escolhas semana 10

♦ 1 Recently I’ve discovered through The Etsy Blog these super cool personalized engraved rolling pins from Valek Rolling Pins. I immediatly pictured my sister baking some funny cookies for me :)
♦ 2 What a great idea this was to illuminate with LEDs all the cranes from a Croatian shipyard! This would go perfect in Corunna!
♦ 3 This music is perfect! “Suger Man, won’t you hurry…” So beautiful… My husband spent last week singing it every day. Do you know Sixto Rodriguez? We didn’t until some friends talked and recomended a documentary about him.
♦ 4 I love these illustrations from Naranjas & Zapatos… I love their style, I love their theme… I think I’ve already talked about them, but I don’t remember when.
♦ 5 Recently I discovered Ilatela, a site where you can print your own design in fabric. I think it’s a great idea and maybe some day I’ll do mine!

WEEK SELECTIONS #9: OLIVIA

(Podéis leer este artículo en Español aquí. ♦ Podem ler este artigo em Português aqui.)

olivia

I love my baby’s name and one of the main reasons why I chose it (yes I chose the name and my husband agreed with it ;) ) was because it’s not very common.

Nevertheless, there are some famous Olivias out there… My favorite ones are without a doubt Olivia the Pig, Olive Oyl, Popeye’s girlfriend, and Olivia Dunham, the main character of the Fringe TV series.

Then, I searched for things with my baby’s name on it and I selected these four (there weren’t many more…): a tote bag, a t-shirt, a name’s origin and meaning illustration and a poster. I’m glad I didn’t find much more!

WEEK SELECTIONS #8

♦2 Can you imagine if some London buildings were sited in Portugal’s coast line? Well, artist Gus Petro can! Check out his entire project here.
♦3 Oh my… I love this wool felt wall lamp from Mariela Dias!
♦4 Since I’ve discovered Society6 I can’t stop falling in love with a lot of different artists works! This tote bag is just an example…

MY BIRTHDAY WISH LIST! 4 BAGS, 4 PAIRS OF SHOES AND 4 JEWELS

(Podéis leer este artículo en Español aquí. ♦ Podem ler este artigo em Português aqui.)

I’m a happy person! Really, I’m truly happy and I couldn’t wish anything else! I have everything I could ever want! But let’s face it, I’m only human and sometimes I’m a bit materialistic and I like to get new things every now and then. So, for those who are close to me (yes Joaquim, this goes for you too ;) ) and want to give me something nice for my birthday, here goes my wish list. It’s really simple, I organized it by sections, so you can give me one of each :D . Just click on each image to go directly to the correspondent online shop!

WEEK SELECTIONS #7: 6 THINGS RELATED TO BABIES AND A BEAUTIFUL SONG

(Podéis leer este artículo en Español aquí. ♦ Podem ler este artigo em Português aqui.)

Last week my choices were all related to Berlin. And again this week’s choices have one thing in common: BABIES.

escolhas da semana

♦1 Lately I’ve been discovering through Twitter a lot of new blogs. Most of them are related to maternity, of course :) I still have to explore BABALLA a bit more, but I instantly liked the “Viajar con Niños” (Travel with Kids) section. It’s written only in Spanish though.

♦2 Isn’t this Ikea hack cool? And super easy to make!

♦3 These days cake decoration with fondant is very trendy, but I hate that kind of cakes! They look so artificial and not edible at all. So, when I found these cakes from Papery & Cakery I almost got back to my childhood, when everything was much simpler and natural.

♦4 Oh my, I want one of these rattles for my Olivia! They are sold in Luna de Papel, a kids toys and crafts specialized store.

♦5 Aren’t these sleeping bags for babies super cute? I add my favorite, the one in mustard color, to this image. They are from Baby Bites.

♦6 I always said that is unnecessary to buy shoes for babies that still don’t walk, but these bootees from OSolDeInverno are lovely! Actually, I love everything that’s created by this Spanish brand!

♦7 I’m not a fan of Lacoste, but I simply love their new commercial and the music (full version here) they’ve chosen to go with it! It’s beautiful! Oh and watch the behind the scenes video too!

Week Selections #6

(Podem ler este artigo em Português aqui. Podéis leer este artículo en Español aquí.)

I don’t know if it is a coincidence or not, but this Week Selections are all related to Berlin in some way or another. Oh… I forgot to tell you, my husband and I love Berlin! seleccoes da semana

♦1 A lot of hipsters live in Berlin! And hipsters love TOMS shoes! Well, I don’t want to be a hipster or like everybody else, but I love those shoes! I can’t help it! My birthday is coming… just so you know ;)

♦2 The other day I was organizing my stuff and I found a postcard from MAUBERLIN. One of my favorite things to do in Berlin when we lived there was to go to Mauerpark every Sunday. There I would see the most beautiful and original handmade things and among them there was this stand full of adorable and funny cushions. I usually don’t like stuffed toys, but I can’t deny these cushions are super cool!

♦3 Yesterday Joaquim sent me this link. Please watch! I promise you will love it!

♦4 I miss my bicycle… This bike basket was “pimped” by Nulan.

♦5 And what do you think about this picture? I love everything in it! It reminds me of the building we used to live in back in Berlin… And I love the bag the girl is carrying! This photo was taken by Mónica Bedmar and the bag is from Caterina Pérez new bag’s collection. I found it on Kireei.

Week Selections #5

escolhas semana 5 pequeno

♦1 A new blog to follow! frannerdsblog.blogspot.de is an illustrator’s blog from Chile who’s currently living in Berlin. She writes in English and in Spanish. I found out about this blog thanks to an interview made by Isidora Morales from El Blog de Lupi.

♦2 Last week I received a really cool present for Olivia from my Spanish friends, a dress from Rock Horror Baby. I loved it so much that I went to explore their web page and I fell in love with this dress. It’s so cute!

♦3 I love to discover new music! I stumbled upon Imany in  Grooveshark and immediately started to listen to the full album. I like some songs more than others but in general I love her voice and style. I already knew “You Will Never Know” but I don’t know where from. And my favorite is “Pray For Help“.

♦4 My husband and I don’t watch a lot of TV (not counting the series… laughs), but sometimes we watch the only Portuguese channel we have access to, RTP Internacional. One of these days we were watching a television show called Moda Portugal and through them I found out about Rutz, a Portuguese shoes’ brand that designs and produces shoes made of cork! The idea seemed so interesting and the shoes are really pretty! You can find out more about them here.

♦5 I found this beautiful image from Pejac in TODODESIGN Facebook page.

♦6 This small image doesn’t make any justice to the great work of Dave Pollot, but it’s one of my favorites. He gives a new life to the paintings his girlfriend finds for him in thrift stores by adding some modern, pop art and Scifi elements to them. I found him thanks to BuzzFeed.

♦7 Did I already mention that I simply love the kids clothes brand Wild Things? Yes… in here!

Week Selections #4

escolhas da semana 4

♦1 This week didn’t start well. I have no reasons and I don’t know how to explain, but this week I felt bored, without energy. So, my selected music was this one: “Boring“, by the Pierces.

♦2 But then my brother in law discovered Leo Moracchioli for us and suddenly I felt way way better! I got fascinated with his covers, specially this one: “Seven Nation Army“, by White Stripes.

♦3 Through Twitter I found out about this new project called Mamemi. They gathered a few traditional tales and wrote some original ones and then translated them to several languages. You can also listen to them since they are recorded by native speakers. At the end of each story you (your child) can even play a game!

♦4 I want this book! I found out about it through Kireei.

♦5 This is a really cool invention, a candle that regenerates itself! Fantastic! I found it here.

♦6 Eka Sharashidze has this really cool photographic project called Wall that consists in taking pictures of people passing by the same place in different hours of the day. I found out about it in Kireei.
