IMAGEM BLOG

Well, hello there! How are you? It’s nice to come back!
And with a “Do It Yourself” tutorial! Wanna learn how you can give a new look to your cellphone case?
You just need a few minutes, some washi tape and other materials that I’m sure you have wandering around your home.

washi tape

So, here we go!

MATERIALS:
– washi tape *to cover and decorate your cellphone case
– old cellphone cover *to renew it
– plain white glue (or mod podge if you have it) *to protect the case and make it waterproof
– cutter *to cut and open the holes in your cellphone case
– small container *to put some glue
– soft brush *to spread the glue onto the case

STEPS:
1 – take the plastic case out of your old cellphone cover (mine was fake leather, bought online);
2 – clean and scratch all the glue that the plastic case might still have on it;
3 and 4 – cover it with washi tape (I used two kinds of washi tape, both from IKEA, but you can use whatever you want and cover the case however you want);

Between steps 4 and 5 I forgot to take a picture, but it’s when you make the holes with the cutter in your cellphone case to match the buttons/camera sockets.

5 – using the soft brush spread glue onto the cellphone case. Wait a couple of hours and apply a second layer of glue to it. Let it dry completely and there you have it! A brand new case!

Note: if you already have a plastic case, skip steps 1 and 2 :)

I always get the best ideas when I’m breastfeeding my baby… and sometimes I put them into practice! This time I only used a plain white t-shirt, the alphabet stamps set, cardboard and some duct tape and in 20 minutes I had a brand new t-shirt! What do you think about it? Do you like the idea?

DIY: IKEA LACK TABLE COVERED IN WALL PAPER

(Podéis leer este artículo en Español aquí. ♦ Podem ler este artigo em Português aqui.)

Do you remember what I first did with my plain Ikea Lack side tables? Here, take a look! Well, I got bored of them, besides, they didn’t match anymore with the living room decoration. So, I undid what I had and transform them again! This time I used Ikea wall paper, a stapler, a pair of scissors and some washi tape. Now, I just have to add some wall decoration and some curtains and my living room will be complete! YAY!

Finally I have my own home office! Well… I’m assembling it, bit by bit! So far I already have put some furniture and hanged some pictures. And I recently made this super easy to make and very functional notes board! I had some extra IKEA NYTTJA frames and I didn’t quite know what to do with them, so, wandering through Pinterest in search for some inspiration, I came up with this! I love it! The four words I used to motivate myself were: INVENT, DO, TRANSFORM, CREATE.

Well, I still have to improve my photographer’s skills but I’m pretty happy with these gifts I made for some special friends that, like me, are new mums :) Emílio is a german baby boy, son of Ewa (Polish) and Eduardo (Panamanian). Tomás is a portuguese baby boy, son of Ana and Márcio, both Portuguese. Nira is a Spanish baby girl, daughter of Pilar and Richard, both Spanish.

MARACAS MADE OUT OF ORANGINA’S BOTLES FILLED WITH RICE, SALT, WATER AND JAPANESE MUGI-CHA BEANS

Untitled design (1)

Olivia is very responsive to sounds, so I made these maracas to play with her. I filled some Orangina‘s bottles with rice, salt, water and Japanese Mugi-Cha beans to make different sounds. First I washed the bottles and submerged them in hot water so the label could come of. Then I filled them and protected the cap with some tape. You can watch the video and listen the sound of each bottle.

(Podéis leer este artículo en Español aquí. ♦ Podem ler este artigo em Português aqui.)

See how to create your own kitchen magnets using your Instagram photos!

So easy that I don’t even have to show you pictures of the how-to process!

You just need these materials:

And all you have to do is:

1. print your photos on the PHOTO PAPER;
2. cut them using the cutter and a ruler;
3. stick the photos to the MAGNET SHEET (it comes already with glue on one of its faces);
4. cut the MAGNET SHEET with your photos already glued to it.

And that’s it! Easy, right? Do you like the idea?

Tutorial in Action #7: POLYMER CLAY BEAD NECKLACE

(Podéis leer este artículo en Español aquí. ♦ Podem ler este artigo em Português aqui.)

Hello! This week I wanted to work with polymer clay so I used this tutorial from Delighted Momma to learn how to make some beads and use them on a fabric rag necklace. DM_Logo_Nov142012v2

My polymer clay was not high quality so I had some difficulties… One bead broke after being baked while I was trying to string it onto the fabric, but overall I’m very satisfied with the results! I love my new necklaces!

What do you think? Do you like them? Have you already worked with polymer clay?
